The Kiosk of Reciprocity is a mobile device to promote Convivial Ground and collaborative welfare, in Milan. It will be inaugurated at Stecca3, Via De Castillia 26 during the Milan Design Week 2024, and will be able to move and activate a proximity economy in other socio-cultural hybrid spaces and neighbourhood.
How is an independent sociocultural space sustainable today? What self-organized services are offered to a neighborhood? What type of Economy of Proximity?

The Kiosk of Reciprocity is a solidarity economy device, food and drinks (the “birrette”) contribute to the support of socio-cultural activities. The kiosk is a cart, a modular cargo-bike that can move around the city, in the different neighborhoods to support the economy of other hybrid spaces and promote conviviality in public spaces. The proximity kiosk for hybrid spaces in Milan is the sister of the Kiosk of Solidarity, created in Berlin by Constructlab to give space in a convivial way to the debate on inequalities and new forms of living, fragility, conflicts and new alliances in urban transformations. CRAFTING DIALOGUES è il palinsesto di incontri pubblici, workshop, mostre e installazioni di design artigiano a cura di Stecca3 spazio ibrido e centro socioculturale, nell’ambito di Isola Design District per il Fuori salone 2024 e in collaborazione con Nieuwe Instituut di Rotterdam, IAAD. Istituto d’Arte Applicata e Design, Accademia Italiana, SAE Institut, ISIA Urbino, partner culturali Constructlab, Collective Works (NL), Temporiuso, partner tecnici come BRIChECO falegnameria sociale, FERCAM Echo Lab, +bc ciclofficina, Mirror, la partecipazione di designer italiani ed internazionali come Giulio Iacchetti e Matteo Ragni e Lidi Bus (NL), con il contributo di Regione Lombardia e Stimuleringsfonds e il sostegno del Consolato Olandese di Milano.

L’attuale contesto geopolitico internazionale di conflitti, incertezze politiche, economiche, sociali, ambientali e le nuove fragilità, soprattutto abitative e lavorative di Milano e non solo, ci pongono di fronte a scelte e cambiamenti necessari. Costruire nuovi dispositivi per dialogare, trovare sinergie e realizzare progetti collaborativi, ma anche lottare e protestare nelle forme più diverse (manifestazioni, biciclettate solidali, sit-in e camping di occupazione). Crafting Dialogues da spazio a nuovi strumenti di design e azione critica e collettiva.

M-US-T is an advanced postgraduate course on temporary uses at the Politecnico di Milano.

Temporary uses can help test and correct in itinere major urban transformation projects and accompany the different phases of a long-term masterplan.

M-US-T Module 1b will allow to meet operators, investors, public administration, and planners, with visits and seminars dedicated to large transformations ongoing in Milan and Italy. The teachings will cover practices and tools of “Open planning”; new skills and professional profiles for the design of spaces for temporary uses; new skills for the planning and management of temporary uses.

TEMPORIUSO vs China 2024.

Thanks to our Chinese collaborators (past and present) to stimulate and encourage to open new practices of temporary uses for site specific Chinese sites and communities.

We will start to explain our 4 main planning and project operation fields:
- TEMPORARY USES and TERRITORIAL AND URBAN PROCESS OF TRANSFORMATIONS (former industrial sites, mining sites, ghost towns, shrinking cities, polluted landscapes )
- TEMPORARY USES and REUSE OF ABANDONED BUILDINGS
- TEMPORARY USES and REACTIVATION OF RESIDUAL OPEN SPACES for PUBLIC USES.
- TEMPORARY USES DEBATE AND PUBLIC POLICIES with PUBLIC SEMINARS, WORKSHOPS, STROLLING AROUND (bike tours, public walks..)

Grazie a #chefare #bertramniessen per dare spazio ad un nuovo dibattito sul ruolo oggi degli usi temporanei nelle trasformazioni urbane e territoriali, nel rapporto con i temi del riuso, grandi progetti, paesaggio, spazio pubblico, nella transizione post-catastrofe e dispositivi per grandi eventi..

Sopratutto per chi come me, Antonella Bruzzese, Temporiuso e molti altri può fermarsi e confrontarsi per capire successi e fallimenti, il quando, dove e come usarli, e saperne i rischi e definire limiti e obiettivi etici da ricondividere con comunità e gruppi di interesse. .

E’ con incontri pubblici, nuove progettualità e con M-US-T master Temporary uses al politecnico di milano che vorremmo incoraggiare nuove professioni per la pianificazione , progettazione, realizzazione e gestione di usi temporanei.

M-US-T is an advanced postgraduate course on temporary uses at @polimi

M-US-T Master Temporary Uses MODULE 1a will illustrate practices of temporary reuse that are becoming established and also bring out critical issues and new challenges. It will present the Manifesto for Temporary Reuse and a temporary reuse diagram highlighting and intersecting the types of abandoned and underutilized spaces, the short and long timeframes of reuse cycles, and the populations using the spaces. Meeting national experts and international protagonists in the classroom and visiting some successful temporary reuse projects in Italy will be organized.
